Rev.Gear.Guide - Nokia 7500 Prism

Descriptions: Just when you think those boys over at Nokia has almost exhausted their ideas for fashion sense phone... think again! What happens if you combine a typical Nokia candy bar phone with some..er.. diamondly~ design? Behold ladies and fashion geeks... Nokia 7500 Prism! Recently being launched in China, the main selling point of this phone is none other than the overall diamondly designed appearance. Aside from the keypads, the back cover of the phone also features diamond shaped polygons all over it, from the the flash light to the actual camera lens all encased in diamond shape. The phone is indeed shouting out Prism! in it's overall design. I wonder what's next, maybe they'll have Nokia 8500 Prism.. featuring trapezium shape... and further on... 9600, 10600, etc... they can use all the wacky prism shapes. Triangle, Square.. (hmmm, square is being used), Circle, Octagon, etc.
Key features are typical of mid - high range Nokia phones. Operating on S40 OS, TFT 16M 2 inch color screen, 30MB onboard memory with optional micro SD card for expansion, GPRS, HSCSD, 2 mega-pixel camera with flash, FM radio, build-in handsfree, etc.

Pros: Stylish phone, supports HSCSD, reasonable features included, nice screen, memory expansion available.

Cons: Keypad takes sometime to get used to (perhaps).

Rev.Anime.Guide - Devil May Cry

June 14th 07, that was when the first episode of Devil May Cry anime aired in Japan. Scheduled for a 12 episode series, the anime of course featured Dante from the Devil May Cry games on PS2 doing what he does best - slaying demons and eating pizzas. The anime series casts includes Trish from the 1st game and Lady from the prequel, though they don't appear in every episode.
(spoilers ahead)
The anime is still airing in Japan and I've only watched 5 episodes so far and for those who'd expect Dante to be the stylish, awesome, cool and sleek demon slaying bad@$$ that he is, you'll be dissapointed.
Somehow the anime doesn't focus so much on the cool moves Dante does
with his sword and .45s. Rather the demons will die after a slash and a
couple shots.
The Anime however, shows the character of Dante and stories about
the people he saved which most people will think is lame and cheesy after playing the games. Hopefully the series will pick up to something better after this, I mean, we all want to watch Dante pull off those demonic skills with his Rebellion sword and, ebony and ivory right? Yeah, we know you do.

Yeah, the official link of the anime web. Every Devil May Cry game or anime in this case seems to have their own logo, see the top of this article for the anime version.

Rev.Figure.Review - Revoltech #31 - Getter 1 OVA ver.

Intro: Figure we're going to review today is from Kaiyodo's Revoltech series (Kaiyodo). For those who do not know, Revoltech's selling point comes from the 'Revolver' joints which all the figures have. This allows a much more dynamic pose for the figures because of the ratchet like joints resides internally and the revoltech joints lasts longer compared to other conventional joints which tend to wear out after sometime. This Getter #1 figure is molded from OVA (Orignal Video Anime) Change! Getter-Robo series (真(チェンジ!!)ゲッターロボ 世界最後の日).

OBE: (Out of Box Experience) Well, they redesigned the packaging, now the box opens above as oppose to the sides. This way you can keep the little paper wrapper in front of the box intact. Fresh inside the box, Getter sits there in his plastic case, the moment it was taken out and checked, we noticed that the knee has paint chip problem. Well, it is quite noticeable, but not while it's in the box. You have to twist the revoltech joints to reveal it. Too bad, next... tried to twist the elbow. Guess what, the left one turns fine... right joints would not even budge. After some frustrating minutes gone by trying to pry the thing open, we finally come to a conclusion that it might be mis-glued together. A few slice of the side of the joints proofs that we're right. The joint finally moves! Shame of the fellow who glued it in the first place! Other than this, there is no other complaints. It has 2 machine guns with knife attached at the end of the barrel, 2 axes, a few different fists to pose and the all important... display stand! Display stand is not included in all Revoltech figures... only some have them(EVA series particularly do not have them).

Pros: Highly poseable like the rest of the Revoltech series. Nice weapons included and also display stand.

Cons: Paint job problem on the left knee, mis-glued left elbow joint.

Rating: 8/10 (would have given 9 if no paint job problem and mis-glued elbow joint.)

Enjoy the rest of the pics! Go! Getter Robo!

The Simpsons

Simpsons fans rejoice. Finally, after 18 years on tv, the movie is coming on July 27th.
As a fan of the simpsons...... let me rephrase that, as a huge fan of the
simpsons, I finally get to hear Homer with his signature D'oH in the big screen cinema.
Here's the link to the official movie site and for those who've never heard of the simpsons, here's a clip for you which i think is one of the funniest scene ever with Homer and Bart doing a indiana jones parody... This is from season 3 which was 15 years ago and
no matter how many times i watch it, its still funny as h3ll......

Remember, July 27th!

Which is the smartest bird?

The answer may/ may not surprise you but get this... ravens/crows are among the smartest of all bird species in the world.

Tested and observed by scientists, ravens (see pic on the left) are the smartest birds whether in the wild or lab. E.g. of their intelligent behavior is that these birds are seen to drop hard to crack nuts into the road and waiting for incoming cars to smash them open. Other shows that the bird buried up to 30 thousands seeds to be kept for winter and able to find/ recover back up to 90% of them back. Impressive huh?

I remember as a child, I saw this educational video on the TV, it shows that a raven is trying to drink from a bottle of water, but the water resides deep inside the container. what it does was it searched for small pebbles/ rocks and threw them into the bottle, it did this until the water level was high enough for it to sink its beak into the mouth to reach the water inside. Pretty smart I guess, but I never thought that only ravens can do this. I thought they simply pick a bird. ha ha.

Jim Carey Karate lesson

We all know how dangerous today's society can get, people are picking up various self defense lesson to better serve them when the time arises.

Well, have a look at this funny video where the comedian Jim Carey shows us the 'correct' way to defense against an armed robbery (must be performed correctly for it to work) ... LOLs

P/S: Thanks Shirlene for the video...

Mobile Phones/ PDA making us dumb?

Research shows that in today's society where mobile phones and PDAs are becoming life's necessity and can really make some of us become.. well.. dumb.

According to the statistics, people needs to remember tonnes of passwords, pins, bank accounts no., etc. to get by their daily lives. Most people (in fact more than half of the 3000 people surveyed) just rely on a single password for almost every application they use.

It seems that we're relying on technology to help us remembers things such as passwords, dates, appointments, schedules... so much that we kinda let our brain takes the back seat.

Professor Ian Robertson, a neuropsychology expert based at Trinity College Dublin who carried out the study, said: "But the less you use of your memory, the poorer it becomes. This may be reflected in the survey findings which show that the over 50s who grew up committing more to memory report better performance in many areas than those under 30 who are heavily reliant on technology to act as their day to day aide memoir."

So is it time to re-train our brains to memorize stuffs? or play any brain stimulating games perhaps?

Transformers Generation 1 vs Movie (2007) character comparison #2

Here's the next look at Decepticon Bonecrusher from the movie.

I remembered I used to have the G1 bonecrusher which can merge with all other 5 more constructicons to form Devastator - a meaner, larger Decepticons robot.

G1 alt form - bulldozer

2007 movie alt form - buffalo armored vehicle (at first I tot this was a made up vehicle just for the movie, a simple google it shows that the armored vehicle manufactured by US is effective at countering IED - (improvised explosive device)) see link

Bonecrusher G1 vs Bonecrusher (2007 movie)

All these reviews brings back lots of nostalgic moments... :) how I miss my G1 toys.

Transformers Generation 1 vs Movie (2007) character comparison #1

Transformers movie 2007 (http://www.transformersmovie.com) which hits cinema worldwide just recently has different characters design compared to their G1 counterpart.

Here we'll take a look at some of the characters comparison. First up, Decepticon's Starscream! The robot jet fighter who likes to betray their leader - Megatron in numerous attemps.

Starscream's alternate mode is the American jet F-15 in his G1 form whereas he's the updated version of F-22 fighter in this latest movie.

G1 Starscream vs 2007 Starscream

I dunno but his robot form looks kinda weird, like some sort of bug like creatures from mars... but I think the reason is to make him more menacing, just like the rest of the Decepticons.
